  • HVAC-R Systems
  • Lighting
  • Residential and Commercial Appliances
  • Commercial Cooking and Warming Appliances
  • Vending Machines
  • New Construction and Government Projects
  • Motion Control and Conveyor Systems
  • Commercial Refrigeration and Freezer Systems
  • Control Systems in Buildings (e.g., power for multiple sensors)
  • Alternative Vehicle Charging Stations
  • Irrigation Systems
  • And many more

About LEED Certification

LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) is a globally recognized rating and certification system focused on creating greener, sustainable, and net-zero energy solutions. It evaluates multiple knowledge domains, including:

  • Location and Transportation (LT)
  • Sustainable Sites (SS)
  • Water Efficiency (WE)
  • Energy and Atmosphere (EA)
  • Materials and Resources (MR)
  • Indoor Environmental Quality (EQ)

Standards are set by organizations such as USGBC, DOE, ASHRAE, ANSI, ISO, EPA, EnergyStar, Watersense, IESNA, and ASTM.

How Wabash Transformers Support LEED Credits

Wabash Transformers can help customers earn credits primarily in Energy and Atmosphere (EA) and Materials and Resources (MR):

  1. Energy and Atmosphere (EA):
    • By using transformers that comply with DOE Level VI energy efficiency standards, our products operate at efficiencies greater than 83%, depending on the nameplate VA (wattage) rating.
  2. Materials and Resources (MR):
    • Wabash provides LCA (Life Cycle Assessment), EPD (Environmental Product Declarations), and HPD (Health Product Declarations).
    • Our EPDs follow ISO 14025 standards and include metrics such as Global Warming Potential, Ozone Depletion, and Petrochemical Ozone Creation.
    • HPDs disclose potential health impacts and comply with REACH regulations required in Europe.

Using Wabash Transformers as part of larger systems may allow customers to earn 0.25–0.5 MR credits based on:

  • Product cost ($)
  • Component weight (%)
  • Sustainability compliance (%)

Additionally, our approach reduces life-cycle impacts, optimizes the supply chain, and supports recycling of steel, copper, and plastics.

LEED Factory Certification

Wabash is also actively pursuing LEED Factory Certification as part of our strategic roadmap. Our customers can be confident that our products are manufactured responsibly. Wherever possible, we:

  • Source materials locally
  • Use recycled content in packaging and raw materials
  • Reduce reliance on newly extracted resources
